Life only requires two types of pressure: one is to know how to relieve stress on oneself, and the other is to know how to apply pressure on oneself.

The great philosopher Plato placed a untied bow on the road and asked passersby in a hurry what he meant by doing so. The passerby couldn't answer, "Plato replied," If you keep the strings taut, the bow is easy to break; but if you relax it, it can be used when needed

The Ge'erjan Temple located in northern Gansu used to have trees that were often destroyed by strong winds, and some were even uprooted.

Later, the monks came up with a solution. Whenever a storm approached, they would place all the pre prepared sandbags on the branches and twigs of the tree, and some would even stack several large sandbags at the roots of the tree to stabilize the entire body.

In this way, no matter how strong the storm is, trees will not be destroyed, let alone uprooted.

What does these two seemingly unrelated stories tell us?

Life requires understanding how to relieve stress, relax, and enjoy the joy and beauty of life, in order to cultivate sufficient energy and better devote it to work and study. Reducing stress is to store the tension of life.

Life also requires the understanding of self pressure. Excessive comfort can make people become lazy and vulnerable, unable to withstand the impact of life. Only by constantly self pressure and bravely taking on the burden of life can the steps of life become more solid, stable, and powerful. Pressurization is to enhance the endurance of life.
